When he was awarded the NFL’s Most Valuable Player for the 2022 season, Mahomes thanked God for the platform and support system that helped him achieve his dreams.

"My Christian faith plays a role in everything that I do," Mahomes said. "I mean, I always ask God to lead me in the right direction and let me be who I am for His name."
Mahomes' faith was especially poignant last year when he recovered from an injury to lead the Chiefs to victory in the AFC Championship. "First off, I wanna thank God, man," he said. "He healed my body this week, had to battle through that. He gave me the strength to be out here."
