As she walked through a quiet waiting area for private flights, she noticed a man sitting nearby.
“At first I just thought, ‘Wow, that guy really looks like Barack Obama,’” Jolene said. But as she got closer, she realized the truth. “Oh my God, it is Obama.”
A Moment with the Former President
Before she could say much, former President Obama stood up, smiled, and walked over to her and her 6-month-old daughter, Giselle.
“Who is this pretty girl?” he asked.
Obama gently took baby Giselle in his arms and started chatting with Jolene. They talked about how fast kids grow up while Giselle sat calmly in the former president’s arms, wearing a straw hat with a white ribbon.
Jolene quickly pulled out her phone and snapped a few pictures — smiling as she captured a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
A Joke and a Lasting Memory
When Giselle’s father walked over, Obama smiled and joked, “I’m taking your baby.”
The sweet moment lasted only about five minutes, but Jolene says it’s something she’ll always remember.
“It was just five minutes,” she said. “But it was a moment that will last forever.”
Sharing the Experience
Later, Jolene shared the photos on Facebook, where friends and family were thrilled.
“I think it’s unreal and pretty exciting,” she said. “Not a lot of people get to meet him — and now I have a picture of him holding my baby.”
Obama told them he was on his way home from vacation. Airport officials didn’t confirm the visit, but for Jolene and her family, it was real — and unforgettable.
