9-Year-Old “Donut Boy” Is on a Mission to Thank Every Cop in America

While most 9-year-olds spend their summers at the pool or playing video games, Tyler Carach from Florida had something very different in mind: he wanted to thank every police officer in the United States: with doughnuts.

Nicknamed “Donut Boy,” Tyler believes police officers are heroes who keep everyone safe. “Cops are my best friends,” he says proudly. “They keep us safe.”

How It All Began

Tyler’s mission started one ordinary day when he told his mom, Sheena, that he wanted to thank every cop in America. “He looked right at me and said, ‘I’m going to buy them all a doughnut,’” she recalled. “I told him to start local, and it just grew from there.”

What began as a small act of kindness in their hometown quickly turned into a national project. The Carach family now travels from state to state delivering doughnuts to officers across the country.

A Journey Across the East Coast

On a six-week trip along the East Coast, Tyler has already visited officers in Pennsylvania and New York, handing out thousands of doughnuts. Some are purchased by his family, while others are donated by local shops that love his mission.

Pennsylvania State Trooper Marc Allen was touched by the gesture. “It really opens us up when we see a 9-year-old who sees the importance of letting us know that we are appreciated,” he said.

By the end of the trip, Tyler is expected to have given away more than 22,000 doughnuts this year alone.

Big Dreams, Bigger Heart

Tyler’s dream doesn’t stop at delivering doughnuts. When he grows up, he wants to become a police officer himself, specifically a K-9 officer. “I get a dog and I get to work,” he said with a grin.

For now, “Donut Boy” continues his mission to spread gratitude, one doughnut at a time: proving that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.
