Gabourey Sidibe, best known for Precious, found love in an unexpected place—the exclusive dating app Raya.

She matched with branding and marketing expert Brandon Frankel, and their first date lasted over seven hours. The connection was instant, and by November 2020, Frankel proposed in a romantic setup featuring rose petals and a “Will you marry me?” balloon sign.

A Wedding No One Knew About

While fans expected a grand Hollywood wedding, Sidibe shocked everyone in 2022 when she revealed she and Frankel had secretly tied the knot in 2021.

Instead of a big ceremony, they exchanged vows at their kitchen table just four months after their engagement. Though they still plan to celebrate with family and friends, the couple was happy to keep things intimate.

Building a Life Together

Frankel has a long career in entertainment, working at companies like CAA Music, Atlantic Records, and Cameo.

But beyond work, he and Sidibe share a love for their two cats, Aaron and Derrell Jermaine Dupree—who even played a role in the proposal, wearing a collar that read, “Will you marry my daddy?”

Becoming Parents to Twins

Their biggest milestone came in April 2024 when they welcomed twins, a son named Cooper and a daughter named Maya.

"Brandon always wanted to name a son Cooper, so we call him ‘Coop,’ and Maya was named shortly before our babymoon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico," Sidibe shared. Both babies also have traditional West African middle names to honor Sidibe’s heritage.

A Love That Keeps Growing

Frankel never misses a chance to show his love for Sidibe, often posting sweet tributes to her on social media. In 2023, he even got her name tattooed on his thigh.

Through a whirlwind romance, a secret wedding, and now parenthood, Sidibe and Frankel’s love story continues to grow—proving that sometimes, the best relationships happen when you least expect them.
