A heartwarming moment caught on camera has captured the attention of millions. When Officer Kenesha Carnegie of the Levy County Sheriff’s Office in Florida spotted three young men assisting an elderly couple at a gas station, she knew it was something special.

Lending a Helping Hand

The couple, 100-year-old David Griest and his 89-year-old wife, Rose, had stopped for a quick break while traveling from Perry to Orlando for a medical appointment. But as Rose struggled to get back into their car, three strangers stepped in without hesitation.

“I looked over and saw them helping— it was a beautiful thing,” said Officer Carnegie. Knowing the young men from the neighborhood, she decided to capture the moment on video, wanting to highlight their genuine kindness.

“Thank you so much, fellas,” David can be heard saying in the footage. “I’m 100 years old.”

One of the men responds warmly, “Take it easy,” making sure the elderly couple is comfortable before they continue their journey.

"She Could Have Been My Grandmother"

The three men—identified as Joc Koe Stoe, Marty, and Freddy G—are local rappers who had just stopped at the gas station for snacks. But when they noticed the elderly couple struggling, they immediately stepped in.

“We didn’t even ask if they needed help,” said Marty, 30. “We just felt comfortable giving them a hand right away. I kept thinking, ‘She could have been my grandmother.’”

A Family’s Gratitude

David and Rose’s grandson, Tommy Griest, 42, was shocked to see his grandparents appear in a viral Facebook video.

“I was scrolling through and saw my grandmother’s purple outfit,” Tommy said. “Praise these guys for helping them.”

Tommy and his wife, Chastity, are grateful to both the kindhearted strangers and Officer Carnegie for capturing the moment. They believe the video would bring joy to David and Rose—though the couple, not being active on social media, is likely unaware of their newfound internet fame.

“It would make them happy,” Tommy said.

A Reminder That Kindness Still Exists

For Officer Carnegie, the moment was about more than just helping a couple in need—it was about showcasing the true character of the young men in her community.

“They deserve recognition,” she said. “This is who they really are.”
