In an emotional and unforgettable moment, 13-year-old Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel—who has been battling brain cancer since 2018—was honored by President Donald Trump during his address to Congress.

The young boy, who has always dreamed of becoming a police officer, received a standing ovation as he was officially named an honorary agent of the U.S. Secret Service.

"Joining us in the gallery tonight is a young man who truly loves our police," Trump said, highlighting DJ’s journey. "The doctors gave him five months at most to live. That was more than six years ago."
A Father’s Pride, A Nation’s Cheers
The moment DJ’s father, Theodis Daniel, lifted him into the air, the room erupted with applause. Smiling through his shock and excitement, DJ proudly held up his official certificate, his dream now a reality.

His journey has taken him across the country, where he has been sworn in as an honorary law enforcement officer at numerous agencies. But this moment, being recognized on the national stage, was unlike any other.
Bipartisan Support and a Call to Action

Even in a politically charged atmosphere, the joy of DJ’s achievement crossed party lines. Rep. Laura Gillen, a Democrat from New York, stood and applauded, showing a rare moment of unity in the chamber.

After celebrating DJ, Trump shifted his focus to a broader issue—childhood cancer. He urged newly appointed Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to take action in protecting children’s health by removing toxins from the environment and ensuring safer food supplies.
More Than a Ceremony
For DJ, this was more than just a title—it was a symbol of his resilience, a tribute to his fight, and a reminder of the power of dreams.

His unwavering spirit continues to inspire, proving that even in the face of adversity, hope and determination can make the impossible possible.
