Valdemira “Valda” Rodrigues de Oliveira is proving that love never grows old—at 106, she’s officially the world’s oldest fiancée. And by her side? Aparecido “Jaco” Dias Jacob, 66.

Despite a 40-year age gap, their story is anything but unusual to them. They met at a nursing home in Brazil three years ago and have been inseparable ever since.

“I fell in love with him. I like him a lot. If he dies, I die too,” Valda said of her deep bond with Jaco. He feels the same: “I fell in love with Valda the moment I saw her. She makes me really happy.”

When Love Meets Determination

Although doctors advised against marriage due to health risks, their desire to be together couldn’t be stopped. With help from a volunteer group called Project of Dreams, their nursing home organized an unforgettable engagement party—complete with 150 guests, a live band, and a four-tier cake.

A Night to Remember

Valda wore a soft gray dress, pearls, and had her hair and makeup done to perfection. Jaco looked dashing in a suit and tie. As they exchanged rings and promised to stay loyal forever, the room erupted in joy. The night ended with a passionate kiss, sealing a commitment stronger than paperwork.

More Than a Celebration

While a wedding ceremony might not be possible, the couple sees their engagement as a powerful milestone. “I would have loved to wash Jaco’s clothes, cook his meals, and take care of him like a wife,” Valda said.

Jaco added, “I asked her to marry me, and we always believed it would happen. But getting engaged is a step forward for us right now.”

Timeless Love

Their love story is a gentle reminder that no matter your age, it’s never too late to find joy, connection, and companionship. For Valda and Jaco, their love is the dream—everything else is just decoration.
